Wet or dry: two principles for the floating sensation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dry floating vs. floating is a question many spa operators ask before they invest. The answer starts with the principle: dry floating and classic floating both use water, but in completely different ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a classic floating tank<\/strong>, the guest lies directly in a highly saline solution that carries the body. In dry floating<\/strong>, the guest lies fully clothed on a flexible membrane, underneath is warm water that carries the body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So in dry floating, too, the buoyancy comes from water, just without direct skin contact. The Zerobody system<\/a> carried by HF Concepts uses several hundred litres of temperature-controlled water beneath a special membrane. It is not an air cushion or airflow system<\/strong>, but a water-supported lying surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guest journey: from reception to departure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For spa operators, the biggest difference is not the session itself but everything before and after. With a floating tank, showering before and after, washing hair and changing are fixed parts of the visit. With dry floating, the guest stays dressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Changing rooms, space and technology<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A floating tank is a wet area<\/strong>: it needs its own shower, waterproof surfaces, ventilation against humidity and water treatment with filtration and disinfection. Salt is also corrosive, affecting fittings, door hardware and technology in the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dry floating can be operated in a dry room<\/strong>. A shower or changing room is not required for the session. Still: several hundred litres of water mean weight. Floor load, delivery route and power supply are checked for your specific room before installation, not with estimates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
